The IONIQ 5 N eN1 Cup car will compete in a dedicated
one-make eN1 race class to be newly installed in the Hyundai
N Festival race season held in South Korea. This is also an
exercise in development to advance electric motorsports.
Motorsports is where every N is proven in fierce
competition. The same requirement applies for our first EV
without compromise. If the IONIQ 5 N has nowhere to race, we
will make a race series for it.
At its core, the new racer features the production IONIQ 5
N’s PE system including the battery, motors, and electronics
as standard from factory. The chassis, safety and
aerodynamics are a result of motorsports-grade development
suitable for competition.
The inaugural season of eN1 class racing joins the Hyundai N
Festival 2024 season in Korea. Can electric cars make our
heart race? Let the motorsport spirit decide.
In motorsport there is no straight path for success. There are twists and turns,
heartbreaks and
failures, awarded by
vanquishing victory.
The IONIQ 5 N eN1 Cup car ventures into an unknown chapter of electric motorsports. We savor the
challenge to forge our electric cars into motorsport proven products. There is no straight path for
electrification. You can lift and slow down, "scale back”. But just like in motorsports, there is no
time to hesitate.Never just drive.
Removal of interior trim, motorsport wheels and tires contribute to 10% reduction of overall weight
